Having fun at Sokol Milwaukee Gymnastics - Come join us!

Dear Milwaukee Area Parents,

Would you like to add variety to your son or daughter’s physical education program?

Why not try the SOKOL GYMNASTICS co-ed K-12 program.  It might be the right fit for your child.

"We provide a good experience at a reasonable price."  $250 for the first child in a family and $200 for each additional child for the entire season mid-September through May (about 30 class periods). Pro-rated throughout the year.

SOKOL ( the Czech word for “falcon” ) is a gymnastics and cultural organization with the motto: “a sound mind in a sound body.”  Our local Sokol unit was created by Czech and Slovak immigrants to Milwaukee and is now celebrating its 150th year.  In addition to gymnastics classes for both boys and girls our organization promotes cultural education by participation in the annual Holiday Folk Fair International (www.folkfair.org), at our traditional Czech dinners, with a Czech-Slovak Dance group and through other projects.  But you don’t have to have to have any Czech ancestry to join Sokol!

Our recreational gymnastics program will introduce your child to the basics of gymnastics in a welcoming, fun atmosphere. Gymnastics improves coordination, strength, flexibility and self-confidence and is a perfect complement to other sports. Our high instructor to student  ratio ensures individual instruction.  With the Sokol program, students move at their own pace through a progression from simple to more difficult skills.
We hold an annual interclass meet and our gymnasts have competed with other Sokol units at district meets in Chicago however our focus is primarily on learning skills rather than competition. While Sokol provides a perfect introduction to gymnastics, it is possible to go as far as you want with the program.  Several of our current gymnasts have gone on to attend Sokol’s National Instructors schools and returned to join our teaching staff.
